Volkswagen stopped producing the split window VW bus (Kombi/Microbus) in 1967 at most of their VW factories around the world to start producing the new bay window bus (single curved windshield) in 1968. They continued to make the split window bus in the VW factory in São Bernardo do Campo (just south of São Paulo proper) until 1975.
